Frederick “Ted” Stacy

Frederick Thomas Stacy “Ted”, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM Monday, September 7, 2026 at Spirit of Hope Church, Rockwell City. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Laufersweiler Palmer-Swank Funeral Home is serving the family.

Ted was preceded in death by the love of his life, Marlene, who passed on August 13, 2022 and one grandchild, Matthew Brenden.

He is survived by his son Timothy (Sandra), daughter Amy (Kim), 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Frederick Thomas Stacy was born on November 10, 1932 on a farm two miles north of Lohrville to Doris Lucille Patten and Earl Edward Stacy of Somers, IA. Ted went to AIB Business School in Des Moines until moving to Rockwell City in 1952. In January 1953, he started working at the National Bank of Rockwell City where he continued working for 43 years retiring at the end of 1996, after working his way from teller to President. Ted and Marlene married on June 3, 1951 in the old Methodist Church in Rockwell City and moved into Sunnyview Independent Living on May 9, 2009.

Ted served on many committees in the community during his lifetime.One committee he was very proud of was the building committee of the United Methodist Church in Rockwell City, now known as Spirit of Hope Church. He served on numerous other committees at the church as well as being on the Board of Sunnyview for many years.
