Dorothy Johnson

Dorothy Ann Johnson, 94, of Webster County, Iowa, passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona on August 30, 2026.

She was born on July 14, 1932, in Spencer, Iowa to Leo P. and Anna A. (Burka) Mundus. Her mother died in 1935 and her father subsequently remarried. She grew up with her many siblings on a farm near Emmetsburg, Iowa before moving to Fort Dodge to work. She married Stanley Wise Johnson in a ceremony at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa on December 11, 1954. Together they raised three children on the Johnson family farm near Harcourt, Iowa.

Dorothy was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnside, Iowa and participated in the congregation's women's group. Over the years, she also served as a 4-H leader and worked as a home health aide in the area.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Louise Meiners and Barbara Culver; and her brothers, Bernard Mundus, William Mundus and Leo F. Mundus. She is survived by her children, Elaine (David) JohnsonSiekmann, Christina Sue (James) Hinshaw and Brian (Lacy) Johnson; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brothers, George Mundus, Frank Mundus and Larry Mundus; and her sister, Sharon Lines.

She will be remembered by her children and her grandchildren for her cinnamon rolls, her hard work on the farm and her unconditional love and care.

The family welcomes memorial donations to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
