Craig Carlson, 77, of Manson, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Faith Community Church, Palmer, IA. The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home - Weishaar Chapel, Manson, IA.
Craig was born in Fort Dodge on December 23, 1948, to Edwin and Norma (Hedman) Carlson. He grew up in the Manson area, graduating from Manson High School. After high school, Craig served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Craig was united in marriage to Joanne Bates on October 11, 1969. Over the years Craig worked for US Gypsum along with farming for over 45 years. He was a member of Faith Community Church. His hobbies included wood working, traveling, and telling people about Jesus.
Craig is survived by his wife Joanne; children Stephanie (Jeff) Gaylor, Kristine Carlson, Elijah Carlson, and Caleb (Rochelle) Carlson; grandchildren Triston, Aliyah, Joseph, David, Jessica, Oliver and Ruby; his brother Dale Carlson and sister Rachel Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Norma Carlson, and his brother Randy Carlson.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
