Vivian Rotert

Vivian R. Rotert, 96, of Fort Dodge, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the Marian Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be at the church prior, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the mass starts. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.

Vivian is survived by her daughter-in-law Sue Rotert of Littleton, CO, children Vicki Rotert of Fort Dodge, Connie (Tom) Miklo of West Des Moines, Renee (Kyle) Underwood of Fort Collins, CO, Steve (Jean) Rotert of Plantation, FL, Jim Rotert of Rio Rancho, NM, Jan (Kenny) Miller of Manson, Kevin (Jill) Rotert of Fargo, ND, 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a brother and sister.

Vivian is preceded in death by her husband Ralph, son Dennis Rotert, and grandson baby Kenneth Miller.

Vivian Rose Lauer was born on June 25, 1930, to Charles and Mary (Thelen) Lauer in Howard, South Dakota. She was raised and educated in Howard and graduated from St. Agatha High School in 1948. Vivian was united in marriage to Ralph Rotert on February 6, 1950, in Howard, SD. The couple established their home and farmed in Salem, SD. In 1967, they moved to Fort Dodge. Vivian worked as a secretary for St. Edmond and Corpus Christi Schools. She then worked at Sister Sadies until her retirement. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Catholic Daughters of America, volunteered for St. Edmond and the Red Cross for many years. She was active in several book clubs and card clubs. Vivian cherished her time and activities with her grandchildren.
