Ann M. Roberson, 79, passed away at her home Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge, on Friday, August 14, 2026. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 1:00 to 3:00 PM also at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with refreshments to follow.
Ann was born November 3, 1946, in Vinton, Iowa, to Paul and Bernice (Duncalf) Kaestner. On August 10, 1968, she married the love of her life, Jack Roberson, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, family, and cherished memories.
Ann grew up on a farm, where she learned the value of hard work, family, and hospitality. She fondly remembered helping her mother prepare large, hearty meals during harvest season. Her love of cooking and baking stayed with her throughout her life, and her kitchen was often a place where family and friends gathered.
Faith was an important part of Ann's life. She joined Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in 1979 and remained an active and devoted member. Over the years, she served as church treasurer, was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML), played and once directed the handbell choir, and coordinated birthday cards for parishioners. She found great joy in serving her church family and making others feel remembered and cared for.
Ann was a woman of many talents and interests. She loved playing cards with her card club, a group she enjoyed for 40 years. She also loved quilting, sewing, crafts, and growing beautiful flowers. She especially enjoyed their trips to out of town quilt shops with friends.
Ann spent time as a devoted stay-at-home mother. As her children grew older, Ann returned to college and earned her associate degree in accounting from Iowa Central Community College, demonstrating her determination and love of learning.
Ann worked at Fletcher Wood Products for many years and later worked in accounting at First Presbyterian Church, from which she eventually retired.
Above all, Ann treasured her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. She loved taking them on outings, showing them her latest quilting projects, baking with them, and teaching them new card games. The time she spent with them created memories that will be cherished for generations.
Ann will be remembered for her generous heart, strong faith, love of family, and warm hospitality. As well as the many ways she quietly cared for the people around her. Her family and friends will carry her memory in their hearts and continue to share the traditions, recipes, stories, and love she gave so freely.
Ann is survived by her husband, Jack Roberson; children, Jason (Angela) Roberson, Elizabeth (Brent) Brungardt and Benjamin (Laura) Roberson; grandchildren, Brendon, Emma, Elijah, Taylor, William, Gabrielle and Annabelle; sister, Marjorie Grovert and sister-in-law, Clarice Kaestner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Grant Kaestner, Darrell Kaestner and Monica Belknap.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
