Marjorie Zahrobsky, 89, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Bickford Senior Living of Fort Dodge.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. Interment will be held in St. Olaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the First Methodist Church.
Marjorie Ellen Shinn, the daughter of Cliff and Dorothy (Lewis) Shinn, was born October 23, 1936, in Woodbine, Iowa, and graduated from Albert City High School.
Marjorie received her teaching degree from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and began teaching 3rd and 4th grade. On June 6, 1959, Marjorie was united in marriage to Donald Zahrobsky. After their marriage the couple made their home on Zahrobsky farm near Fort Dodge.
Marjorie enjoyed genealogy bird watching and crafts.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter Marcia (Kenny) Wasmund of Surprise, AZ; granddaughter Alyssa Wasmund and her fiancée Ethan; and her brother, Dick (Debbie) Shinn. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald in 2023 after 67 years of marriage; her parents, and her two sisters LaVonne Clark and Marilyn Jahn.
In lieu of flowers, in recognition of the many abandoned animals left by their farm place, memorials may be directed to Almost Home.
