Ronald “Pete” Pederson, 78, of Badger, passed away on June 2, 2026, at the University of Iowa, surrounded by the love and memories of a life well lived.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Badger Lutheran Church with interment in Blossom Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, June 5, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Badger Lutheran Church, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Ron was born on November 21, 1947, to Nels and Catherine (Kusterer) Pederson. A lifelong resident of Badger, he was deeply rooted in the community he called home and was proud to spend his entire life there among family, friends, and neighbors.
Ron was a dedicated businessman who owned and operated Nels Pederson Construction alongside his two brothers. He was known for his strong work ethic, practical wisdom, and commitment to serving those around him. He also proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard.
Faith was an important part of Ron’s life, and he was a longtime member of Badger Lutheran Church. He found joy in simple pleasures and the company of others. Ron enjoyed watching baseball, admiring classic cars, attending car shows, listening to live music, and spending time at community events with his close circle of friends. He was never happier than when he was tinkering on projects in his shed, a place affectionately known as “Pete’s Shed.” There, family, friends, and neighbors were always welcome to stop by, pull up a chair, share stories, and enjoy good conversation.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Gina (Mike) Cone; his son, Nick (Amy) Pederson; his cherished grandchildren, Easton, Nelson, and Cal; his siblings Eloyce Brown, Rich Pederson along with many beloved nieces, nephews, dear lifelong friends, and countless others whose lives were enriched by his friendship, generosity, and warm spirit.
Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cindy Pederson; his parents, Nels and Catherine Pederson; brothers Larry and Robert “Bob” Pederson, sister, Jan Wheeler and other loved ones who welcomed him into eternal rest.
Ron will be remembered for his welcoming smile, his unwavering devotion to family and friends, and the way he made everyone feel at home. His legacy lives on in the stories shared around kitchen tables, at community gatherings, and especially in the memories made at Pete’s Shed.
Blessed be his memory.
