Todd Green

Todd was born on January 8, 1965, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Raymond F. Green and Flora Lee (Mortimer) Green. He was the youngest of three children and grew up alongside his sisters, Charla and Sheri.

He attended Fort Dodge schools and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High with the class of 1983.

Following his dream of becoming a truck driver, Todd began his career in 1988 with Schneider International in Des Moines. He later worked for several trucking companies before joining Decker Truck Line, Inc, in Fort Dodge in 1995. Todd remained with Decker until 2010, when he transitioned to FedEx to spend more time closer to home. He concluded his trucking career with Niece Trucking in Des Moines, where he worked as a contract U.S. Postal Service mail carrier. Due to declining health, he retired in 2020.

In his younger years, Todd enjoyed bowling and later developed a passion for golf, spending many enjoyable days on the course at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge. He was also a devoted fan of the hard rock band Rush and had the opportunity to attend three of their concerts.

Todd is survived by his sisters, Charla Wilke of Fort Dodge and Sheri Crouse (Pat) of Waukee; his niece, Shanna Dessinger of West Des Moines; his nephew, Shaun Crouse (Megan) of Carlisle; and two great-nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law, Jim Wilke; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Todd’s family extends heartfelt gratitude to his caregivers at Mission Cancer + Blood in Des Moines, the Norma Schmoker Cancer Center in Fort Dodge, the staff at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City and Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, especially the compassionate staff of Kavanaugh House for their exceptional care and support.
