Roseann Flattery Vinsand
Roseann Flattery, 74, of Des Moines, and formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Wesley on Grand in Des Moines.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday May 26, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. A private family burial will be held at Corpus Christi Cemetery. There will be visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
Roseann Marie Flattery was born on April 15, 1952, in rural Colfax County and moved to Fort Dodge in 1954. She attended Corpus Christi and Saint Edmond Catholic High School and continued her education through Iowa Central Community College and Iowa State University. In later years she returned to Iowa Central Community College and graduated from the nursing program to become a Registered Nurse. She began her career as a staff nurse at Friendship Haven and continued her career serving others at long-term care facilities around Fort Dodge. She worked for Webster County Community Services for several years and ended her career as a home health care administrator. She was a devoted mother and compassionate caregiver whose life was grounded in caring for her daughters and others. She enjoyed going for evening bike rides, spending time at auctions for unexpected finds, and impromptu weekend trips with her daughters.
Roseann is survived by her daughters, Emily (Michael) Flattery Actis Grande, Jennifer (Dr. Mitch) Peerbolte, grandchildren, Michael Actis Grande V, Roman Peerbolte, and Alora Peerbolte, brother, Robert (Brenda) Flattery, sister-in-law, Sue Flattery, aunts, Ruth Ann Morrow, Margaret (Kenneth) White, nieces and nephews, Matthew Flattery, Nathan Flattery, Jenny Flattery, and Megan Demerly.
Roseann is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Flattery and Mary Flattery, brothers, First Lt. Richard Flattery Jr, John Flattery, and a baby nephew.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
