Gloria Kraushaar McIntyre
Gloria McIntyre (nee Martens) passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the age of 89 in St. Charles, MO. Beloved mother of Cindy (Garry) Rose, Amy Kraushaar, and Beth Greco; dear stepmother of Michelle (John) Withers and Stephanie (Dan) Denton; loving grandmother of Ace Rose, Julia Rose, Nicholas Greco, Chaz Greco, and step-grandmother to Kennady Withers, Jaxon Withers, and Hannah Denton; loving aunt, cousin and friend.
Gloria is preceded in death by her late husband, Dr. Maury Kraushaar, and her second husband, Gary McIntyre, her parents, Fred and Fernanda Martens, her sister, Dolores (The late Robert) Harvey, and her brother, Fred (The Late Helen) Martens.
Gloria was born in Winterset, Iowa, graduated from DeSoto High School and the University of Iowa where she earned a BA in Political Science. Gloria married her husband, Maury, in 1959. They settled in Fort Dodge in 1963 where they built a life together until Maury’s passing in 1986. During her years in Fort Dodge, Gloria was active in many civic, social and cultural organizations and was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. In 2000, Gloria married Gary, and together they split their time between Twin Lakes, Iowa, and Marco Island, Florida. Gloria enjoyed cheering on the Hawkeyes, traveling the world, playing bridge and spending time with friends and family. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Gunderson’s Funeral Home on June 1. Visitation will be at 9:30 with a memorial service at 10:30. Memorials may be made in Gloria's name to Hospice Support Foundation, www.hospicesupportfoundation.org.
