Robert “Bob” Pederson
Robert “Bob” Pederson, 84, of Badger, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Badger Lutheran Church with Pastor Scott Meier officiating. Burial will follow at Blossom Hill Cemetery, Badger, IA. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Bob was born in Fort Dodge on November 30, 1941, to Nels & Catherine (Kusterer) Pederson. He grew up attending school in Fort Dodge. Bob was united in marriage to Janet Messerly on July 23, 1965. They made their home in Badger. Bob worked for and was an owner of Nels Pederson Construction where he worked as a dragline operator. His faith was very important to him; he was a longtime member of Badger Lutheran Church where he served as a deacon and on the board of trustees. He cherished spending time with his family. Bob also served in the National Guard. His hobbies included rebuilding tractors, welding, tinkering, fixing anything for anyone, and fishing. He enjoyed watching westerns, trains, steam engines, polka music and was quite the dancer.
Bob is survived by his children Kimberly (Lowell) Axne of Humboldt, Amy Pederson, Galen Pederson both of Badger; grandchildren Logan (Callie) Axne, Megan (JJ) Hanus, and Dalton Matter; great-granddaughter Hattie Hanus; his siblings Eloyce Brown, Rich Pederson, and Ron Pederson. He was preceded in death by his parents Nels and Catherine; infant daughter Cynthia Pederson; siblings Janice Wheeler and Larry Pederson; in-laws Lucy Pederson, Cindy Pederson, Jerry Wheeler, and Jerry Brown.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
