Pamela Stephanie Roby, 78, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her home on April 7, 2026, surrounded by her faith and the love of her family and her husband, William Roby.

Born December 11, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Pamela lived a life rooted in faith, service, and love. She was a devoted servant of God who faithfully pastored and poured into the Fort Dodge community through her leadership at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Her ministry was marked by compassion, wisdom, and a genuine heart for people.
Pamela was a proud graduate of Carrick High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She was a loving and devoted mother to Otis Murray, Michael Murray (Monique), and Julie Sherrill (Brett), and a cherished godmother to Angela Taylor and Angelika Woods. Her family was the center of her world, and she found great joy in spending time with her children and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
Pamela shared a special bond with her siblings. She is survived by her brother, David Benson, and her sister, Yvette Moore (Darrin), whom she lovingly embraced in a motherly role throughout her life. After relocating from Pittsburgh to Iowa, Pamela also gained a cherished sister in Michelle Taylor (Madai), further expanding her circle of family and love.
Pamela will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and her love of life's simple pleasures. She loved to sing and play the piano, often lifting her voice in praise. She enjoyed traveling, treasured time with family and friends, and was known for her warm hospitality. Pamela especially enjoyed baking homemade cookies and sharing them with others.
Above all, Pamela loved the Lord. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she carried that faith into everything she did, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion.
She was preceded in death by her son, Nathaniel Amir Murray; her parents, Nathaniel Benson and Delores Benson; and her former husbands, Otis Murray and Jack Thompkins.
