Lawrence Maguire

Lawrence Maguireage 74, of Rogers, Minnesota, passed away on March 26, 2026, in Rogers. He was born on May 2, 1951, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He graduated from St. Edmond High School in Fort Dodge, Iowa, in 1969, beginning a lifelong connection to the St. Edmond community that remained an important part of his life. Lawrence proudly served his country in the United States Army, enlisting in 1970 and serving in Korea. On July 20, 1974, he was united in marriage to Brenda, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage filled with love, commitment, and family. He dedicated his career to public service, working as a Federal Meat Inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his work. Lawrence was a devoted supporter of St. Edmond High School and remained closely connected to the school throughout his life. He was an active member of the St. Edmond Booster Club for many years. His pride in the school was reflected in his family, as all three of his sons graduated from St. Edmond: Travis (Class of 1999), Todd (Class of 2004), and Lance (Class of 2010). He is survived by his wife, Brenda Maguire; his three sons: Travis of Fort Dodge; Todd Maguire (Jamie) of Waukee; and Lance Maguire (Miranda) of Rogers, Minnesota. He is also survived by his siblings: Michael Maguire; Mary Husske (Curt); Berdie Nelson (Vyron); Bill Maguire (Jean); Mark Maguire; Michelle Osbloom; Kathy Forsythe (Brian); and Linda Ball (Bill). He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Peggy Maguire, and his brothers: Robert Maguire, Edward Maguire, and Joseph Maguire. A Catholic funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 11, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Lawrence will be remembered most for his deep love for his family, his pride in his sons, and the steady, caring presence he brought to their lives.
