Laura Johnson

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge. A private family graveside service will be held at the Dayton Cemetery in Dayton. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Laura Ann Huffman, the daughter of James and Georgann (Lewis) Huffman, was born August 16, 1955, in Columbia, Missouri, and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1973. On December 18, 1976, Laura was united in marriage to Dale Johnson. After their marriage the couple made their home around the Lehigh Burnside area. Laura was very involved as wife and mother. She was partner with Dale in keeping the books for the family farm and their trucking business. A mother taking care of their three boys, never missing a school activity or one of their sporting events. She also kept busy being involved with the Southeast Webster Booster Club.

Laura and Dale were very excited to have three wonderful daughters-in-law so seven little ones could call her grandma. She never missed one of the grandkids’ church and school events either. Getting out on motorcycles with Dale was always a fun time.

She is survived by her husband, Dale; their three sons, Jeremiah (Lyndsey) Johnson, Scott (Jordan) Johnson, and Keith (Brianna) Johnson; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, Colin, Bailey, Cooper, Louis, and Thomas. She is also survived by a brother, Mike (Carol) Huffman of Yankton, SD, and a sister, Beth (Kenny) Beane of Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Laura is preceded in death by her parents.
