Kenneth Presler
Kenneth D. Presler, 95, of Thor, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Ullensvang Lutheran Church, Thor. A visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Burial will be at East Ullensvang Lutheran Cemetery, Thor, with military rites presented by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the VFW Post 5240 Sather Odgaard, Dakota City. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.
Kenneth is survived by his children Dave (Cindy) Presler of Ankeny, Kenda (Gary) Beck of Fort Dodge, Tami (John) Parle of Thor, eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and sister Katherine Ersland “Kitty” of Phoenix, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Presler, parents Leslie and Anna (Ekstrom) Presler, sister Donna Moklebust and her husband Keith Moklebust, brother Keith Presler and his wife Esther Presler, and brother-in-law Ben Ersland.
Kenneth Duane Presler was born January 29, 1931, in Fort Dodge. He was raised on the family farm north of Thor and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. Kenneth served in the Korean War with the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He then transferred to the Army Reserves where he served until April 20, 1960. On March 17, 1956, he was united in marriage to Doris Lane at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Ken and Doris made their home and farmed near Thor. He retired from farming and then worked for Chantlands in Humboldt for a number of years. He was a member of Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor.
