Adrian McColley
Adrian McColley, 95, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, April 6, 2026 at the Marian Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitations will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday April 15, 2026 at Holy Trinity Church with a rosary beginning at 6:45 pm AND 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.
Adrian Clyde McColley was born May 23, 1930 in rural Dallas, South Dakota. He moved to Nebraska and then Ogden, Iowa at the age of 5. In 1938, his family moved to Fort Dodge and he attended rural school through grade school. He graduated from Corpus Christi in 1948. After graduation, he farmed until 1956 and then went to work at Hormel until 1982. He retired from Celotex in November of 1994 after working there for over 10 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church where he was a eucharistic minister, usher and delivered the eucharist to the home bound. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, AFL-CIO and Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers International and local Union #6-503. Adrian also volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center and reading and playing games with the 3rd graders at St. Edmond. He enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing. He also bicycled on RAGBRAI from 1975-1981. He put in numerous century rides traveling over 100 miles per day sometimes even 200!
Adrian is survived by his children Kenneth (Sheryl) McColley, Michael (Cindy) McColley, Cheryl Welcomer, James (Mindy) McColley, Nancy (Brian) Schmidt, Karen (Doug) Waller; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and siblings Helen Murphy, Luella Warren, Lavonne Dellachiesa and Robert McColley.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Agnes (McElroy) McColley, wives Lorraine Kutz in 2001 and Beverly Gidel in 2018 and grandson Austin Waller, siblings Gerald McColley and Frances Rude and son-in-law Dale Welcomer.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
