Patricia J. “Patt” Vandi
Patricia J. “Patt” Vandi, age 76, of Peosta, IA, formerly of Ft. Dodge, IA, completed her earthly journey on February 12, 2026, at AHVA Living East Dubuque while surrounded by her loving family. To honor Patt’s life, her Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Ft. Dodge, IA. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Patt’s family.
Patt was born on February 6, 1950, in Ft. Dodge, IA, a daughter to Kenneth K. and Vernice A. (Foreman) Gustafson. She was gifted with the kind and gentle heart of an artist and was blessed to be able to do what she enjoyed throughout her entire life. Patt was an art teacher at both Dayton Community Schools and Prairie Valley School for over 30 years until she finally retired in May of 2008. She always enjoyed bringing the visions, talent and open minds of her students to their full potential and made countless friends along the way.
In her free-time, Patt continued to carry her artistic skills wherever she could. She was well known for her beautiful handwriting, especially her talents in the calligraphy arena, and Patt was often called upon for special projects when a little higher level of presentation was desired. She was also an active member in many local clubs and never missed an opportunity to spend quality time with her local sorority chapter. Being a proud graduate of Iowa State University, it was not surprising that Patt also enjoyed keeping up with their sporting events when time allowed. Patt made the most of each day and was blessed to spend the majority of her time in life doing exactly what she loved. She was a proud mother and grandmother who simply shared all the love that she could with those around her. Patt, may you find peace now and know that we find comfort in the memories you leave behind.
Those left to cherish the memory of Patt include her two daughters, Nicole M. (Cortney L.) Graber, Peosta, IA, and Stephanie E. (John C.) Foster, Florence, AZ; her five adored grandchildren, Elizabeth N. Graber, Isabella N. Graber, Alexandra G. Graber, CJ Foster and Raven J. Foster; her brother, Kenneth K. (Cathy) Gustafson, Jr., Otho, IA; along with numerous extended family, friends, and neighbors.
Patt was preceded in death by her parents.
Patt’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at AHVA Living and Hospice of Dubuque for all of their professional and compassionate care.
