Born June 13, 1947, Kathy was a woman of deep faith and quiet strength. After a successful 30-year career in California, she returned to Iowa to be near her family. As an ISU Master Gardener, she found God’s presence in the soil and the bloom, dedicating her retirement to beautifying His earth and serving others as a compassionate hospice volunteer. She has now been called to the Master’s Garden.
She is survived by her son, Chris (Stacy) Donnell; step daughters Marilynn and Erin Hendrie; siblings Elaine O’Connor, Jim (Jan) O’Connor, and JoAnne (Bill) Booge; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Malcolm (Cal) Hendrie in 2023; her parents; sister, Marguerite Monroe; step-son: Sean Hendrie; and nephew, Shawn Blair.
