Donna Kirkhart

Memorial visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2026, with the service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Weishaar Chapel in Manson, Iowa. Interment will be held in Ferguson Cemetery, Lake View, Iowa.

Donna Lee Crees, daughter of Ralph and Myrtle (Cambell) Crees, was born April 14, 1940, in Shelby County. She graduated from Shelby High School. Donna married Delmar Von Eschen and to this union three children were born, Debra, Lori and Donald. The couple later divorced. On September 9, 1975, Donna married Arlen Kirkhart, and his children Dawn and Dustin joined their family along with their son Scott.

Donna worked at Dugger’s Grocery for 25 years. Donna and her sister Patsy operated the Manson Golf Course for 13 years.

She lived her life with a smile and a “hello” for everyone she met.

Survivors include her husband Arlen, her children Debra (Barry) Lawson, Lori Loerch, Donald (Connie) Von Eschen, Scott (Tammy) Kirkhart, stepchildren Dawn (Ron) Bauer, Dustin (Cheslie) Kirkhart, 13 grandchildren, Leslie Hughes, Derek Hughes, Alex Metzger, Matthew Lawson, Justin Von Eschen, Jeremy Von Eschen, Jenna Von Eschen, Ethan Kirkhart, Kylie Kirkhart, Nathan Bauer, Anna Welch, Allie Kirkhart, Owen Kirkhart and 10 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, siblings Patsy Sick, and Naomi (Eugene) Peters, son-in-law Roger Loerch.
