Gerald Bender

Funeral services are pending at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA.

Jerry is survived by his brother, Paul T. Bender of Fort Dodge; nephews, Terry Bender of Thor, Iowa, Robert Bender of Lancaster, SC; nieces, Joan Bender of Waltham, Massachusetts, Jean Knoll of Kalo, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Loretta Bender of Fort Dodge, three grand-nephews and a grand-niece, two great-grand-nephews and two great-grand-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Virginia Bender, his brother, Darrell Bender and his sister, Ann Bender.

Gerald Bender was born on May 5, 1940, in Chicago, Ill. He attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from St. Edmond High School. He moved to Santa Monica, CA. in the 1970’s where he worked for the City of Santa Monica.

Gerald was an avid traveler and made many trips to countries around the world. Walking in nearby parks was a favorite pastime. He was a very social person and talking to all types of people was something he enjoyed. He will be missed by family and the many good friends he made.
