Gene T. McCartan, age 94, of Pocahontas, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, peacefully in his sleep.

Funeral Mass is 10:30 AM Friday, January 9, 2026, at Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pocahontas, Iowa, with Fr. Paul Nguyen as celebrant.

Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Pocahontas, with military rites by the American Legion — Liberty Post #18 of Pocahontas.

Visitation is from 4-6 PM Thursday, January 8, at Powers Funeral Home in Pocahontas.
