Curtis D. Truelson

Curtis D. Truelsen, 74, of Fort Dodge, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Good Samaritan Home in Manson. It was Curtis’s wishes to be cremated.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 23rd at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Jake Rosenmeyer, officiating. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Duncombe. Visitation will be 1 hour prior on Friday at the church.

Survivors include his daughters Melissa (Jim) Winters of Spencer, Rebecca Smith of MN, Jessica (Derek) Pearson of Rockwell City, 4 grandchildren, sister Eileen Hovick, sister Elaine Truelsen, and his sister Wanda Truelsen.

He is preceded in death by his wife Sandra, daughter Michelle, parents Nels and Agnes (Davis) Truelsen, brother Roger Truelsen, sister Lila Coenen, brother Gordon Truelsen and his sister Eloise Wishmeyer.

Curtis D. Truelson was born on February 15, 1951 in Corydon, IA. He was raised and educated in Lehigh through the 6th grade and then graduated from Central Webster High School in 1969. In 1974, he was united in marriage to Sandra Brungardt, the couple established their home in Duncombe. Curtis worked for Van Diest and for several farmers in the area. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Curtis loved to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and the Iowa Hawkeyes play sports on TV. He enjoyed bowling and golfing. Curtis bowled a perfect 300 and also got 2 holes in one in his lifetime.
