Bret Lee Davis
Bret Lee Davis, 67, of Humboldt, IA, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 11th after a short illness. Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 14th from 4 PM to 7 PM at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 15th at 10:00 AM at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel.
Bret was born in Iowa City, IA on November 3, 1958, to Marvin Lee and Sonia (Anderson) Davis. He grew up attending Manson School and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1978. He then attended Iowa Central Community College where he received a degree in electronics. Bret was a mechanic at Silgan for 27 years and retired in 2014.
On April 1, 2011, Bret married the love of his life Deb Trammell. Together they built a life based on love, laughter and many adventures.
Bret’s hobbies were a true reflection of his personality which included spending time at the lake, boating, fishing, woodworking, feeding birds, and attending classic car shows. Most of all he enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
Bret will be remembered for many things but mostly his humor, story telling and being Santa to the kids at Christmas Land. Bret was a kind soul with a passion for life.
Bret is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Sonia Davis; in-laws, Odis and Corrinne Trammell.
Bret is survived by his loving wife Deb; sister, Shelly Fraser of Lehigh; stepson, Nick Trammell (Alexis); grandchildren, Avery, Liliana and Abraxas; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Bret will be deeply missed by all those who loved him and those lucky enough to enjoy a conversation with him. Bret had the gift of gab, never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went.
Memorials may be left to discretion of the family.
