Lois Dalene Engeman
Lois Dalene Engeman, 92, of Fort Dodge, IA passed away peacefully on October 14th, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born October 26th, 1932 in Andover, MO to Ellen and Clarence Dunbar. She married George Engeman and raised two children Jacklyn Dorman and Stephen Engeman. She worked for Globe Union/Johnson Controls for over 30 years. She played 3 on 3 basketball in high school for Duncombe, IA. In addition, loved country music, dancing and watching sports, especially college sports and pro golf, having never teed up a golf ball.
Dalene was a devoted mother to her daughter Jacklyn Dorman (Tom) of Irvine, CA, and son Stephen Engeman (Julie) of Ames, IA and a proud grandmother to Brooke (Matt), Breighton (Danielle), Blake (Jamie), and Hilary (Chris). She cherished her great-grandchildren – Kaya, Beau, and Brodie who brought her endless joy.
She was especially grateful for her nephew Lonny and his wife, Barb, who were always there to check in on her, provide care, and support her every step of the way. Their children also offered their support, helping to brighten her days and ensuring the family’s love and care was a constant presence in her life.
Visitation will be held at 10:00am on October 24th, 2025 at Gunderson Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, IA followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. A luncheon will be held at Northfield Church at 12:30pm with burial to take place at 3:00pm at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh.
