Roger Huetig

Roger Huetig, 77, of Fort Dodge, died September 25, 2025, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025, at CrossWay Church. Interment and military honors will be held in North Lawn Cemetery.

Roger Dean Huetig was born December 5, 1947, in Belden, NE. He graduated from Belden High School and earned his B.A. degree in Chemistry from Morningside College in Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Following his service, he was united in marriage to Becky Schroder on April 30, 1971. The couple made their home and raised their family in Fort Dodge. Roger was employed with the Fort Dodge Labs, retiring in 2002.

Roger loved politics, Husker football, cooking and especially time outdoors, gardening, hunting, fishing, and canoeing. Always known to have a dog by his side.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Becky, his daughters, Wendy (Troy Anderson), of Fort Dodge, Patricia Huetig (Phil Kennedy) of Portland, OR, his grandchildren Chase and Laurynn Anderson. He is also survived by his brother Paul (Mary) Huetig, sister Shirley (Chuck) Sueper, in-laws Jill Huetig, Kay and Brian Hacklander, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Warren, and brother-in-law Bill Schroder.
