Myrna Miller

Myrna Jean Miller passed away September 26, 2025, at Norwalk Regency Care Center.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Laufersweiler's Palmer-Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Burial of ashes will be done privately with the family at a later date.
Myrna Jean Ray was born in Rockwell City, IA, September 28, 1934, to Levi and Edna Moody Ray. She spent her childhood in the Rockwell City area. She and Gerald McCurdy Sr. were married in 1951. They lived in Radcliffe and Dayton, before establishing their home in Rockwell City. The couple later divorced. She then was married to Clint Miller in 2003.
Myrna drove a Rockwell City-Lytton school bus for 25 years and also was a Calhoun County Sheriff’s dispatcher for 18 years. She lived in Grimes for a short time and was a nanny for several families.
Myrna was a member of the Church of Christ, VFW Auxiliary, and AFSCME.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clint Miller; parents; brother, Joe Ray; and sisters, Hollis Lange. Doris Hendricks and Ada Kaldenberg. Also preceding her were her son, Jeffery at birth and granddaughter, Kelly McCurdy.
She is survived by her children: Gerri (Jane) McCurdy, Ankeny, Ellen (Dale) Lyon, Pomeroy, Bart (Deb) McCurdy, Wellington, Co, and Colleen McCurdy, Norwalk; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
