Loretta Weinzetl

Loretta (Lori) Ann Weinzetl, 66, of Fort Dodge, passed away on September 13, 2025, at the Israel Family Hospice House. Loretta had been managing health issues since 2018, and God blessed her with His invitation to come home and rest easy.
Loretta was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on September 1, 1959, to Donald and Patricia Weinzetl. Although she answered to both Lori and Loretta to her friends (‘Tooke’ to her siblings), she preferred the name Loretta as it was a testament to her strong and independent nature.
Loretta graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1977. She lived in several towns around Fort Dodge and had a variety of different employers during her lifetime. At every stop along the way, she made new friends, and several remained in close contact the rest of her life. She truly cherished these friendships. Family and friends can recount hours of phone conversations, some deep and heavy but always sprinkled with laughs. She always had an ear to listen, sometimes some wise advice, and tried to offer unwavering support. Her unique sense of humor could brighten even the darkest of days; the laughs that have filled her room in the last few weeks are a testament to how much she will be missed.
Those left to cherish memories of laughter include her children Adam Pahl and Josi Pahl (Rob Anderson), of Fort Dodge; her siblings and their families: Mike Weinzetl (Kelly, Jake, and Sarah Lang) of Webster City, Mark Weinzetl (Kim, Shawna Schuler, Brandi Webb, and Marcy) of Otho, and Denise Pierce (Steve, Lindsey Mitchell, Melissa Higgins, Erica Abbott and Olivia Hall) of Bondurant. Loretta adored her nieces and nephews and all their ‘littles’ that have been born over the last few years. She loved keeping in touch with her many cousins and enjoyed the companionship of some special dogs in her life: Sable, Dice, Smokie and Buddy.
Loretta’s family looks forward to sharing stories and celebrating her life on September 26, 2025, at Rides Banquet Center in Fort Dodge from 4-8 pm. Memorial donations may be directed to the discretion of Josi Pahl to help with Loretta’s final arrangements.
