Gerita Lacina
Gerita Mae Lacina, 90, of Manson, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society in Manson. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Gunderson Funeral Home – Weishaar Chapel in Manson with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Gerita was born in Manson on August 4, 1935, to Gerald and Almena (Steckelberg) Decker. She grew up in the Manson area, graduating from Manson High School. She was united in marriage to Clifford Baldwin and to this union were two children Sherrie Baldwin and Bryan Baldwin. The couple later divorced. She later married Earl Lacina and to this union two children were born Monty Lacina and Cory Lacina. Over the years Gerita was a homemaker, worked at the Apple Attic at The Community Orchard, the Iowa Testing Labs in Eagle Grove and the Community Day Care. She loved being a homemaker and raising her family. She also enjoyed volunteering at church making quilts and sewing.
Gerita is survived by her sons Monty Lacina and Cory Lacina; daughter-in-law Shirley Baldwin; grandchildren Shannon Rodenborn Robertson and Angie (Jamie) Reiter; great-grandchildren Ayda Fae, Jazlynn Ann and Ariana Grace Reiter and David (Eli) Howey. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sherrie Kirsch; son Bryan Baldwin; her parents; and brother Marvin Decker.
