Beverly Martin

Beverly Jean (Schaefer) Martin was born on January 27, 1934, to Albert and Hazel (Ram thun) Schaefer at Trinity Lutheran Hospital Fort Dodge, Iowa. She passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, at Trinty Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge, Iowa at the age of 91. She has gone home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ. Beverly was baptized and confirmed by her grandfather the Rev. WCH Schaefer at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rockwell City. She grew up in the Rockwell City area and graduated from Rockwell City High School. On February 17, 1952, she was married to Kenneth Roger Martin by her grandfather at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They were blessed with four sons, Kent, Kim, Kevin and Kendal. They lived in Calhoun County and farmed and sold Dekalb Seed for 40+ years. She worked in First National Bank, Calhoun County ASCS Office, Rockwell City and then Somers Savings Bank/Heartland Bank, Somers. Iowa. She sang in the Immanual Lutheran Church Choir, weddings and anniversaries, and other special events. They spent 30+ winters in Golden Vista RV Resort, Apache Junction, Arizona, where Beverly sang and participated in musicals. She loved hiking and gardening, serving her church, attending her children's activities, family was her life.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Hazel Schaefer, Father and Mother-in-Law, Lowell and Dorothy Martin, Brother and Sister-In-Law, Keith and Pauline Martin, Sister-in-Law Kathy Schaefer, nephew Tony Schaefer, grandchildren James Kenneth Martin and Kimberly Ann Martin.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth of 73 years. Brother Richard and Cheryl Schaefer, sons and wives; Kent and Linda S. Martin, Kim and Linda R. Martin, Kevin and Lori Martin, Kendal and Michelle Martin. She has 12 grandchildren: Brian, Todd, Chad, Scott, Amanda, Katie, Michael, Jamie, Travis, Zach, Kendra and Keaton. Twenty-nine great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be TODAY at Palmer and Swank Funeral Home in Rockwell City, Iowa from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. The funeral will be on Wednesday, September 24th, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rockwell City at 10:00 am. Burial will take place at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be made in Beverly's memory. The family would like to thank her caretakers and the staff at ICU, Trinity Regional Medical Center, for the excellent care she received.
