David Gaeth
David (Dave) L. Gaeth, age 88, of Buffalo, MN, formerly of Fort Dodge, IA, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday June 29, 2025, at St. Therese of Oxbow Assisted Living. His wife Sara and their four children were at his bedside through his last days. David was born on a farm near Fremont, NE, to Dorothy and Delbert Gaeth. He taught Jr. High music in Ft. Dodge for many years and was organist at Buffalo UMC after his retirement.
David was preceded in death by his parents, brother Don Gaeth, sister Dolores Bang, brother-in-law Eugene Bang, and brother Larry (Dort) Gaeth.
He is survived by his loving wife Sara of nearly 65 years and his four children: Cindy (Tom) Bailey, Deb (Mac Butler) Gaeth, Brian (Paula) Gaeth, and Steve (Alissa) Gaeth. Also grandchildren Kylie, Tyler, Jenna, Bridget, Ethan, Elsa, Iris, and his brother Ken Gaeth along with many nephews and nieces. Dave's joyful way of life will be missed by all, along with the loving staff at St. Therese.
Celebration of Life Service is Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation prior to the service. Buffalo United Methodist Church, 609 8th St. NW, Buffalo, MN 55313. Luncheon to follow. Interment at Mission Cemetery, Buffalo.
