Marvin Heath

Marvin Heath, 98, of Otho, died June 20, 2025, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Interment and military honors will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hazleton, Iowa.
Marvin Eugene Heath, son of George and Drusilla Anna (Dagit) Heath, was born July 23, 1926, in Iowa City, Iowa. Marvin graduated from Stanley High School in 1944. On June 26, 1946, he married Betty Schmidt. Marvin served in the U.S. Navy from 1944, retiring in 1979 as Master Chief, Petty Officer, E-9. While in the Navy he served on many aircraft carriers and served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. The couple lived in several places before making their home in Otho. Marvin enjoyed gardening, woodworking, cooking and music.
Survivors include his daughter Linda (Lou) Fisher of Iowa City, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Betty Heath, son Harry Eugene Heath, grandchildren Brandon Winston Holbrook Fisher, Crystal Dawn Heath, great grandson Christian Xavier Heath, his parents, his brothers Dale and Lawrence, sisters Orvetta and Drusilla.
