Gerald D. Will

Gerald D. Will passed peacefully in his sleep on June 5th, 2025 at the age of 82. Jerry, to his friends and family, was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ardella Will, and wife Merilla (Mayberry) Will, he is survived by his brothers Gene and Earl, and three children. He was a lovingly devoted father to three internationally adopted children: Taja, now 39, a nationally recognized artist, educator and consultant based in Minneapolis; Tova, 36, a hardworking veterinary technician living near Ames; and Tjaden, 31, young man of many pursuits and vocations, soon relocating to Branson, Missouri, with his loving girlfriend Joanna. Considered a daughter-in-love and part of the Will family for over 5 years, Joanna was an essential support during Jerry's end of life care.
Jerry's life and work was multifaceted, including insurance sales, advertising, time in retail, creative work in fashion, floral arranging and home renovation. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, and was handy with a building project. He will be remembered as a gentle and loving man deeply committed to his family.
No public service or memorial will be planned, his family plans to grieve his transition privately. Jerry will join his wife in their final place of rest at Northlawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
