Barb Tjebben

Barbara Tjebben, 88, of Fort Dodge, died June 9, 2025, surrounded by family at the Simpson Center, Friendship Haven.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel, followed by interment in North Lawn Cemetery.

Barbara Grace Utley, daughter of Eugene and Eva (Peterson) Utley, was born July 12, 1936, in Waterville, MN. Following school Barb was employed with Mead Containers for 20 years and King Koin Laundromat.

Barb married Robert Tague and to this union they were blessed with 4 children, Barbara, Debra, Robert Jr., and Rick. Robert preceded her in death. On July 21, 1970, Barb married Albert Tjebben and they had two children Cynthia and Ronald “Bo”.

Barb will be remembered for her infectious smile, distinct laugh and love for her family. She had a heart of gold, completely unselfish, kind-hearted yet stubborn and sassy. She loved spoiling all her family, especially her grandchildren. Barb was an avid card player; cribbage and 1000, her favorite.

Survivors include her children Debbie (Bob) Hart, Robby (Tina) Tague, Ricky Tague, Cindy (Paul) Rees, and Bo (Chrissy) Tjebben, son-in-law Butch Rogers, 31 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Along with her siblings, Dennis (Barb) Utley, Ron (Jeanette) Utley, Joe Utley, Doug (Kristen) Utley, Jessie Hendrickson, Mike Utley, David Utley, Tony Utley, Chuck (Angie) Utley, Tommy (Danni) Utley and Richard Utley.

Barb was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Tague Sr. and Albert Tjebben, her daughter Barbie Rogers, her great-grandson Jacob, siblings Gene Utley, twin sister Bea Matter, Georgean Brighi, Bev Wilson, Bobby Utley, Kay Neavin, and Mary Schmoker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
