Robert Law
Robert “Bob” Mervin Law, 70, of Vincent, Iowa, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on May 24, 1954, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Mervin and Genavee (Olthoff) Law. Raised on the family farm outside of Duncombe, Bob developed a deep love for the land and strong values that shaped the man he became. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1972.
On August 21, 1976, Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Kimberly Ann Fulton, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. Together, they built a beautiful life on a farm outside Vincent, Iowa, where they raised their three beloved daughters: Rachael, Laurie, and Mindy. Bob’s life centered around family, faith, and a quiet strength that lifted those around him. He especially cherished the time spent playing games, hosting family gatherings, and simply enjoying every moment with Kim, whose enduring love was the anchor of his life.
Bob began his farming career alongside his father Mervin, his uncle Ed, and his brother Larry. Through hard work, dedication, and an unyielding passion for agriculture, he carried on the family legacy until his retirement in 2020.
Beyond the fields, Bob found joy in friendly competition and fellowship through his involvement in local golf, pool, bowling, and horseshoe leagues. He also deeply valued the time he spent with his men’s faith group, where he found spiritual encouragement, meaningful conversation, and lasting brotherhood. These pastimes not only brought him enjoyment but also forged lifelong friendships that he cherished.
Those who knew Bob will remember his wholehearted love, his brilliant and thoughtful mind, and the way he challenged and inspired others simply by being himself. His presence made others better, and his memory will remain a guiding light for his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Kim; his daughters: Rachael (Kurt Hansen), Laurie (Clint Weber), and Mindy Law (Mark Lyman); and his cherished grandchildren: Morgan, Kaleb, and Jake Hansen, Ava and Louis Weber, and Justin and Emmet Pelzer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mervin and Genavee Law; his sister, Jean Law; his brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Pam Law; and his brother-in-law, Doug Brown.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Funeral services for Robert Mervin Law will be Friday, May 9, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City, Iowa. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 8, from 5-8 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City, Iowa. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
