Clinton Arie Van Kley was born on March 5, 1947, to Arie and Jeanne (Lighter) Van Kley in Sibley, Iowa. He passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the age of 78.

Clint graduated from Ocheyedan High School in 1965 and then attended college in Muscatine. On November 14, 1970, he married Kathy Raw in Ocheyedan. They established their home in Farnhamville. He was a member of the First United Church and served on many of the church’s committees.

In 1969, Clint began working for Farmers Cooperative in Farnhamville, where he dedicated 42 years of service before retiring in January 2012. He began his career at the counter assisting customers and went on to hold several management positions, including Feed Department Manager, Agronomy Manager, Regional Sales and Operations Manager, and ultimately retired as the Transportation Director. Throughout his career, Clint built countless friendships with co-workers, customers, and industry partners–connections that meant a great deal to him and remained strong long after he retired. He deeply valued the camaraderie and shared purpose that came with his work, and he continued to nurture those relationships with regular visits, phone calls, golf outings, and get-togethers for years to come.

Above all else, Clint’s grandchildren were his greatest joy and top priority. Anyone who met or spoke with him quickly learned how proud he was of them–he never missed a chance to share updates on their latest accomplishments. He devoted much of his time to attending their sporting events and activities, rarely missing a moment. His support was unwavering, and his presence in their lives was a steady source of love, encouragement, and pride.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy, in 2005; parents Arie and Jeanne Van Kley; granddaughter Kaylah Brandel; brother Alan Van Kley; and in-laws Blaine and Lois Raw. He is survived by his daughters Amy (Heith) Jaeschke of Moorland and “Angel” Sara Van Kley of Luther; grandchildren Dakota, Madyson, Emily, and Logan Jaeschke and Jaidyn Brandel; sister Linda (Gayden) Wohlman of Sioux Falls, SD; brother Neal (Cindy) Van Kley of Spencer, OK; sister-in-law Cathy Van Kley of Ankeny, IA; and other relatives and many friends.
