Shirley Mae Gillis Johnson
Our sister Shirley passed away on November 26, 2024. She was born December 30, 1964 in Illinois. She spent her adult life in the Ft. Dodge area. She married and had two sons (Dale & Seth). She was a longtime employee of the Fort Dodge hospital. She also held many other various part time jobs. In addition to being a mother and hard worker she was a great companion/friend to her late mother & mother-in-law. She loved baking (yummy) & gardening. She is preceded in death by her mother, father & two infant sisters. She is survived by her two sons, two granddaughters, sister, five brothers & many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Her siblings knew she was going to grow up to be a very strong determined woman. At a very early age she rode her brother’s homemade bicycle down a hill & up a tree. She never let go of that bike. All of her older siblings were in awe of such a display of courage. On Nov. 26, after many years of fighting various illnesses our sister took one last ride down the hill & up the tree where God grabbed her & took her home.
