Gary Junkman

Memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2024, with a service to follow at 6:00 p.m. Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Gary Lee Junkman was born April 8, 1937. He graduated from Manson High School in 1955. For 38 years he was employed as a lineman with Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric. In his early years Gary drag raced from Illinois to California, winning multiple awards and championships. On December 23, 1985, Gary married Gayla Odgaard. Gary loved being with family and was a proud grandpa and great-grandpa. He enjoyed time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife Gayla, his daughter Stacy (Casey) Dencklau and their children Hailee (Keegan) Schwartz, McKenna (Nick) Yeast, Bo Dencklau, and Kaidyn Dencklau, great-grandchildren Rowan, Ryker and Rhett Schwartz. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Doni.
