Ray Bass

Memorial visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024, followed by the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Gunderson Funeral Chapel.

Ray Steven Bass, son of Eddie and Maxine (Johnson) Bass, was born August 22, 1976, in Boone, Iowa. He was the 4th generation to own and operate the recycling business, B and B Metals in Evanston, near Duncombe. He married Marcie Smith on January 20, 2000. Ray loved the outdoors, time spent fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife Marcie Bass; his sisters, Tammy (John) Guinan and Beronica (John) Bass; those he considered as brothers, Mike Bass and Leo Hillmann; his mother-in-law Barbara Smith and sister-in-law Lisa Baird, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Eddie and Maxine Bass, his father-in-law Ora Lee Smith and brother-in-law Ozzie Baird.
