Charlotte (Erritt) Atwater

Charlotte was born on August 17, 1941, in Lake City, IA. She grew up on the Erritt Family Farm one mile west of Slifer, IA. Charlotte graduated from Cedar Valley High School in 1959 and her postgraduate education was completed at McPherson College in Kansas. In 1964, Charlotte married Robert Atwater of Larned, KS. In 1968, they were blessed with the adoption of their son Brent Douglas Atwater. Charlotte dedicated 35 years to the teaching profession instructing students in History, English and Writing.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her son, Brent Douglas Atwater. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Atwater, of Leavenworth, KS; her sisters Nancy Nielsen (Clifton) of New Hampton, IA, and Susan Hoover (Stanley) of Plattsburg, MO; sister-in-law Judy Trostle (Ronald) of Littleton, CO, and a host of nieces and nephews. Charlotte will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Services are pending through R.L. Lientz Funeral Home in Leavenworth, KS. Private burial also pending in Gowrie, IA.
