Marc Stitt
Marc Stitt, 78, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Trinity Regional Medical Center from complications of a subdural hematoma. A memorial service will be held at the Celebration Center at Friendship Haven at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Marc was born in Des Moines on August 18, 1946, he was the second of four children. Marc lived in Fort Dodge since 1947; he graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1965. He went on to Morningside College and received a four-year degree. He then went to serve in the U.S. Army for three years in Germany. He returned to Fort Dodge and lived in the family home until his mom’s death in 2002 when he moved to his own home. Marc enjoyed taking walks, especially with his special friend Tim (Ilene) Oleson either at the YMCA or around town. He also enjoyed the companionship of his cats Eddie & Murphy. He especially enjoyed holiday gatherings with his folks and siblings at the family home until their passing, and later at his older brother’s.
Marc is survived by his older brother Dr. Michael (Carole) Stitt and their children Kim (Bill) Shimkat of Fort Dodge; their children Ryan and Jack; Stephanie (Kyle) Stitt-Cox of Waukee, IA, and their children Connor, Aidan & Lydia; Alyssa (Garron) Stitt-Williams of Mankato, MN, and their three children Noah, Zoe & Jonah; Kristen (Andy) Morrison of Arlington Heights, IL, and their children Louise, Sydney & Arthur; Marc’s younger sister Jane (Bruce) Jochims and their children Elizabeth Anderson of Sartell, MN, and Jacob (Katrina) Seitz-Anderson of Richfield, MN, and their children August & Andrew. Marc was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Paul Logan Stitt and Marguerite Elma (Molz) Stitt and his younger sister Elizabeth Stitt.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family or a local organization of your choice in honor of Marc.
