Cynthia “Cyndee” Olson
Cyndee Olson, 69, of Pleasant Hill, formerly of Fort Dodge, died unexpectedly at her home on September 25, 2024. Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with services following at 2:00 p.m. at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Cynthia Leigh Taylor, the daughter of Donald and Arlene (Davis) Taylor, was born on January 6, 1955, in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School in1973 and attended Iowa Central Community College. She married Timothy H. Olson on October 25, 1975, in Fort Dodge. She was a stay at home mom until her children were older; she then enjoyed her time as a preschool teacher and worked at Boone County Recorder’s Office until she retired. She loved and lived for spending time with her children and grandchildren, enjoyed weekly Bible study and going to lunch with her friends. She was strong in her Christian faith with a mission to lead others to Christ. She was a kind, loving and empathetic parent who has left a legacy of love, faith and resilience.
Survivors include her children Sarah (Brian) Crowley of Altoona, IA, Aaron (Rachel) Olson of Aurora, CO, and Jennifer (Eric) Titus of Oakland, CA; grandchildren Jordan Pitts, Monica Crowley, Samantha (John) Kerr, Taylor Crowley, Charleigh Crowley, Evan Olson and Avery Olson; great-grandchildren Sayla Crowley, Hudson Kerr and Harrison Kerr; brothers Don Taylor and family and Tim Taylor and family. Cyndee was preceded in death by her husband Tim of 41 years and her parents.
