Michelle Gerhardt

Michelle was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on June 20, 1967, to Joseph and Diane Riesenberg. She attended St. Edmond High School, graduating as salutatorian in 1985.

After graduating from Iowa State University majoring in accounting, she joined Union Pacific. She enjoyed working with her family of Union Pacific colleagues for 30 years. She retired in 2020 as Assistant Vice President — Financial Reporting.

She was an avid golfer and she loved to travel spending time on the beach.

After an 18-year-long fight with cancer, Michelle passed away peacefully in her sleep.

Her father, Joseph Reisenberg, precedes her. She was married on September 20, 1996, to Bruce Gerhardt. He survives her, as well as her sons, Jared and Michael Gerhardt; her mother, Diane Kovarna (Gary); and her sister, Chris Tomlinson (Dave).

The honorary pallbearers include Jennifer Hamann, Wendy Whalen, Shan Ray, Mary Oberg, Mike Staffenbeal, and Jamie Fraser.

A visitation will be held at Westlawn-Hillcrest in Omaha, Nebraska, on Friday, July 26, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. www.westlawnhillcrest.com.
