Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Trinity Episcopal Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight, PO Box 10704, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52410 or the Iowa Women's Basketball Development Fund.

Art is survived by his wife, Judith Higgs-Mayer; children, Angela (Ross) Frank of Omaha, Scott Mayer of Scottsdale, AZ, and Anthony Mayer of Mason City; step-children, Heather (Dan) McGowan of Naperville, IL, and Heath Higgs of Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Harrison, Sean, Riley, Sarah, Hayden, Maya, and Jinsey; his sister, Annette (Tom) Kutilek of Omaha; sister-in-law, Janet Morlock of Peoria, IL.

Art was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Earhart.
