Donnie C. Dencklau
Donnie C. Dencklau, 89, of Thor, IA passed away on July 3, 2024 after a long happy life. Donnie was born on September 17, 1934 in rural Vincent, Iowa. He married Mary Jo Bock from Fort Dodge, IA on February 6, 1955 and together they had 4 children, Donnie, Jimmy, Curtis and Carolyn. Donnie is preceded in death by his father Clarence Dencklau, mother Olga Rossow Dencklau Hansen, sister Lois and brother Alvin.
Donnie enjoyed many things in life. Most important to him was his family, farming, his dogs, talking to anyone that would listen and the freedom he felt when riding his bike or driving the family Allis WC purchased in 1939.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Jo, his children Donnie D. (Carol) Dencklau, Jimmy Dencklau, Curtis Dencklau and Carolyn (Andy) Ross, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, his sister Lila Schafer of Broken Arrow, OK and sister and brother-in-law June and Jerry Sankey and sister in law Juanita Bock.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7 at Gunderson Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, IA. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 8 at 11AM at Badger Lutheran Church, 127 2nd Ave SE, Badger, IA.
