Amyrra Lumsden
Amyrra M. Lumsden, 16, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Mercy One in Des Moines.
A service honoring Amyrra’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at First Covenant Church with Pastor Allan Redenius officiating. The visitation is from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at First Covenant Church. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Amyrra Marie Lumsden was born May 2, 2008, to Lucas and Janelle Lumsden in Fort Dodge. She was going into her junior year at FDSH. She was on the varsity bowling team. Amyrra loved bowling. She has bowled since she was four. She loved bowling with her pops, her sister, and the whole bowling family. Amyrra even won Bowler of the Year. She was also on the cheer team. She enjoyed Friday nights under the lights. Amyrra worked for her dad’s business, Home Servicing LLC, doing little side jobs. She loved working with her dad. She was also employed at Scooters. Amyrra enjoyed shopping with her sister and swimming with her brother. She also loved vacationing with her family, and she was always on the go. If she was home, she was either on the deck tanning or in her room putting on makeup and doing her hair. She was a girly girl. She could light up a room with her smile and had a contagious laugh and a true heart of gold. Amyrra always put herself aside and cared for anyone. She took it upon herself to be an organ donor. She is a true hero and will forever live on as a legend.
Amyrra is survived by her parents, Lucas and Janelle Lumsden; her sister Aryssa Lumsden, her brother Aythan Lumsden, grandparents, Eileen Helmers, and Marsha and Paul Waldschmidt; great grandparent Gerry Knudson, aunt and uncle Jerad and Tamee Helmers, great aunts and uncles, Marti and Johnny Williams, Julie White, Diana Nims, Bobby Lumsden, and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her special grandpa “Poppy” Rick Helmers, great grandma Arlys Knudson, and great aunts, Loretta Deuker and Sandra Davis.
Amyrra was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known her. She will never be forgotten.
