Beverly Carlson
Beverly A. Carlson, 90, of Fort Dodge, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at UnityPoint Health Trinity Regional Medical Center.
A service honoring Beverly’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. on Friday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Beverly is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Grant) Mapel, Petersburg, Nebraska; Terri (Randy) Hoffman, Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Michael Mapel, Timothy Mapel, Robin Murphy and Kelsey Meeks; and great grandchildren, Austin, Rileigh, Kylee, Blayne, Gage, Haydin, Jaysen, Colden, Aria, Nora, and Letti; and great-great grandchild Keon. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Beverly Ann Axness, the daughter of Sterling and Opal (Bradley) Axness, was born November 19, 1933, in Badger. She was united in marriage to Oscar Carl Carlson on September 4, 1955, at Badger Lutheran Church. Beverly was a homemaker, raised her children and helped run their farm. She worked for a short time at Rosedale Creamery and W & H Oil Company in Badger.
Beverly was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. She was also once involved with Pilgrim Lutheran Church, with the Ladies Aid where she served as vice president and program chair, and she was active in the Friendly Club. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and traveling with her husband Carl, including trips in their RV, and to Canada where they went fishing. Everywhere they went, they made friends. She loved to play cards, going to casinos, Godfathers on Wednesday with her lunch group, and they loved to play Washers (similar to Cornhole), a game they made. Beverly treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
