Carl Grall

Carl D. Grall, 92, of Fort Dodge, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Simpson Health Center, Friendship Haven.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 Noon Friday, April 19, 2024, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery with military rites by the U.S. Air Force and VFW Post 1856. There will be a visitation on Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of service at the church. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.

Carl is survived by his children, Carl Grall Jr. and his wife Patti of Colorado Springs, CO, James Grall and his wife Catie of Eagan, MN, Kevin Grall and his wife Babin of Boone; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Carl is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; parents, John and Rosella (Paulson) Grall; brothers, Robert and Charles Grall; sisters, Bernice Eldridge, Madonna Froyd, and Betty Heidick; and granddaughter Amanda Grall.

Carl Dee Grall was born on September 29, 1931, in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1951. Carl served in the Air Force during the Korean War; he served 4 years of active duty and 4 more years in the reserves. On January 24, 1959, he was united in marriage to Beverly Meehan at Holy Rosary Church, and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Carl worked for the City of Fort Dodge as a Police Officer, making his way up to a captain. He retired in 1989 after 32 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity, the Eagles, N.R.A, Fort Dodge Pistol Club, and Good Sams. Carl enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his shop.
