Michael Scacci
Michael Scacci
Michael Britt Scacci, age 69, peacefully passed away at home, under hospice care, surrounded by love, on March 3, 2024.
Michael was born in Dixon, Illinois on October 23, 1954. He was raised in Ottumwa, IA, and was a proud graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1973. He continued his education at Iowa State University, where he graduated in the class of 1978, forever cherishing his time as a Cyclone. In 1979, he made Fort Dodge his home, where his respected banking career spanned 37 years, marked by dedication and integrity. It was in Fort Dodge where he found not only professional success but also his beloved wife, Jolene, with whom he shared 42 beautiful years of marriage.
Throughout his life, Michael pursued his passions with unwavering enthusiasm. An avid collector of all things Christmas and paper currency, he delighted in the joy of the holiday season and the stories told by historical currency. What he enjoyed most was relaxing with the Florida sunsets, exploring antique shops all over the US, important ‘meetings’/poker night with his boys, and most of all, enjoying time with his loved ones.
Above all, Michael will be remembered for his deep devotion to his family. His love for his wife, Jolene, and their cherished daughter, Mackenzie, knew no bounds. His spirit of generosity and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. Usually seen in a suit and tie, Michael carried himself with dignity and grace, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved family, as well as the vast community of friends he made throughout his journey. Michael is survived by his devoted spouse, Jolene Scacci, and dearest child, Mackenzie Scacci.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Vivian Scacci, and his beloved daughter, Megan Scacci.
Cremation rites have been accorded with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Family interment services will take place at a later date in Corpus Christi Cemetery.
