Betty Slotten

Betty Ellen Stell was born June 13, 1924, to David and Ada Stell in Clare, Iowa. She graduated from high school in 1942 in Duncombe, Ia. Betty married Lloyd Slotten September 28, 1946. They had two children, Carol Craft and Ron (Joan) Slotten.

Betty was proud of her family. She loved her husband for 69 years and devoted her time to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty read her Bible daily and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and 15 siblings. Betty is survived by her children and granddaughters Nancy (Rod) Strait and Pam (Andy) Speck-Peterson. Betty is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren Lindsey (Zack) Bronkema, Andrew (Tatianna) Strait, Alyssa, Chloe, and Vivian Speck, and Ezra Peterson and great-great-grandchildren Maverick and Nora Bronkema, and Grayson Strait. Betty is also survived by 3 stepgrandchildren, Michaela Simmons, Jeri (Joel) Johnson, and Adlai (Vanessa) Hall, 5 stepgreat-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Betty’s family would like to thank everyone at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home for their care and compassion that they gave Betty in her final days.

Per Betty’s request there will be no services. Cremation rites are entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
