Alice Marie Wehrspann
Alice Marie Wehrspann, 101, of Fort Dodge passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the Marian Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with burial following at North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Alice was born near West Bend, IA on October 14, 1922, to William and Emma (Kroeger) Struecker. She attended country school and St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Whittemore, IA. Alice moved to Fort Dodge in June of 1955 and was united in marriage to Herman Wehrspann on May 30, 1959, in Fairville, IA. Over the years she worked for Pan-O-Gold / Sunbeam Baking Company and Rodenborn Glove Factory, retiring in July of 1986. She was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and her hobbies included crocheting, walking, gardening, cooking / baking, reading, puzzles, card games, traveling and family. She especially loved caring for her many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Alice is survived by her brother Willis Struecker and her sister Janice Peterson, along with many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman; her parents, and her siblings Glenn, Carl, Clarence, Howard, Norman, Alden, Gordon, Esther, Elda and Retta.
